About Ttáwax̲t
At the center of everything we do is the lifegiver and the profound change that comes with becoming a parent. At Ttáwax̲t, we walk beside each family as they transform and awaken in mind, body, and spirit. We offer them our care, knowledge, and presence along the way.
Our Mission
Reducing infant and maternal mortality by nurturing a healthy birthing community, grounded in Indigenous ancestral knowledge.
“Ttáwax̲t is transforming what maternal care looks like in our rural community and reservation. They understand that thriving families begin with culturally grounded, respectful care. By centering Indigenous traditions, honoring birth as sacred, and creating a space where women feel seen and valued, they are building stronger generations. Their doors are open to all, but their foundation remains rooted in culture, community, and the belief that every mother and child deserves to thrive.”

Vision
Maintaining healthy Indigenous ways of life that strengthen kinship relations for generations to come.
Who We Are
Ttáwax̲t Birth Justice Center is a circle of Indigenous people, women, mothers, and grandmothers who carry the wisdom of our own journeys and — through holistic, culturally rooted care — we support all Indigenous lifegivers and families as they grow into parenthood, creating an ecosystem where community and environment thrive together.
We serve families on and near the Yakama Nation Reservation who are pregnant or have children ages zero to five. We offer care coordination, bodyfeeding support, childbirth education, cultural classes, plant medicine, and much more.
