The Sacred Bloom: Behind our Rebrand

Ttáwax̲t was formed in 2012 to create a sanctuary where Indigenous mothers could find support and connect with culture, community, and vital resources. Through this circle of care our founders directly confronted systemic injustices to help mothers and babies thrive. This work remains an urgent priority today, as maternal and infant mortality rates within our communities continue to be among the highest in Washington state.

In those early days, our brand identity was woven into the image of a mother and her child cradled safely within a baby board against a backdrop of purple ribbon. That first logo was more than just a symbol; it was a testament to the sacred act of creation. It honored the intention and love sewn into every stitch of the boards that would carry our future.

A baby board is our first home after the womb — a place of security where babies begin to realize their own autonomy. It provides a place of rest and a foundation of safety. For over a decade, this was our focus: the mother, the infant, and the board that held them both.

However, over time, we realized that to truly support a healthy lndigenous way of life, we had to care for the entire family and the community in which they exist. Our circle expanded, reaching out to fathers, elders, and the whole family unit. In the same way, our logo also needed to expand.

 A New Vision Takes Root

Today, we turn a new page in our story. We are proud to unveil a new symbol that reflects our evolution: the wild rose. Featuring the wild rose over purple ribbon, our new logo design unites our history and our future. While our appearance has transformed, our heartbeat remains dedicated to the spirit of “Families Growing Together.”

We chose the wild rose for its quiet power and resilience. It is a plant of protection and healing, used from the moment a child enters the world to the moment a spirit departs. Its roots go deep, allowing it to thrive even when the ground is hard and the winds are cold.

Most importantly, the wild rose teaches us how to live. Though a single rose is beautiful, they prefer to grow in clusters. Beneath the soil, their roots intertwine, forming a supportive community that shares resources and strength. They remind us that when we share our lived experiences and our love, we can heal generations.

Ttáwax̲t is the fertile ground where these roots meet. We invite you to join our story — to deepen your own roots, to connect with the land, and to flourish alongside us. Together, we are cultivating a community of thriving, deeply rooted families.
