Rooted in Community Care, Guided by Collective Healing
At Ttáwax̲t Birth Justice Center, our mission is to reduce infant and maternal mortality by nurturing a healthy birthing community grounded in Indigenous ancestral knowledge. We envision maintaining a healthy Indigenous way of life that strengthens kinship relations for generations to come. We honor each person by meeting them with respect, love, and care wherever they are in their healing journey.
In alignment with these values, we are proud to offer Wellness Wednesdays — a sanctuary led by our Healing and Embodiment Advocate, Lena. Wellness Wednesdays are for current Ttáwax̲t clients to experience shared healing and intentional community care. By integrating ancestral wisdom with restorative practices, these gatherings provide a welcoming space for relatives to pause, reflect, reconnect, and practice deep self-nourishment together.
The Power of Rest: Nourishing Our Families and Community
Healing and rejuvenation begin when we give ourselves permission to pause. By offering a safe, culturally grounded environment that meets individuals where they are, Wellness Wednesdays strengthen community bonds and nourish the whole person.
Wellness was never meant to be a solo journey. Healing happens in community. Rest is a vital, transformative form of care. And making space for ourselves empowers us to show up fully for one another.
Here’s some of what our clients can expect from our guided Wellness Wednesdays gatherings:
- Sound baths
- Meditation
- Breathwork
- Yoga
Beginners welcomed
True maternal and infant health requires holistic support that extends beyond clinical care. Every gathering is beginner-friendly and designed to meet you exactly where you are — no prior experience or special preparation is needed. Whether you join us for a single morning or make Wellness Wednesdays a regular part of your self-care routine, there is always a space waiting for you in our circle.
Weekly Offerings & Restorative Paths
Whether you are seeking restorative care, meditation, movement, or connection with a supportive community of parents, this space is created specifically for you.
Each session offers its own unique rhythm, but our heartfelt invitation remains unchanged:
